Witness wedding questions

just wondering about witness weddings and what is and isn't acceptable these days.

i know that toasts are a no-no, but i'm wondering about other things, such as:.

is it ok to have a best man?.

Is it ok for someone to give the bride away., as long as he is not DF and
that also a no no for the best man and bridesmaids. Satan can give
the bride away but not a DF father.

park ave boy: yes there are many here who is stuck in because of family and I understand.
I'm asking for that elder that encourage the flock to shun family members, that elders like
my family members who refuse to discuss the issues I have with the Borg, that elder
or RF member that believe they are 100% right.
It would be nice if your elder friend could post something, it may be good for him.

us out. Don't be shy, no one will ever know. Please show us how Satan has perverted our minds.
I promise we want be rude and we will be courteous (well most of us).
You may be able to bring thousand back into the flock, it will be a hell of a part on the assembly.
You have been lurking and I'm sure you have notice we have covered many subjects here, jump
in and set us straight, just one point where we may be wrong.
This is your opportunity to speak the truth, we know you don't have that chance to do so in the
preaching work to day.
I know you are out there.
I hope there will be no birds tweeting on this topic.

Yesterday around 3 o'clock in the afternoon sit two elderly ladies on the steps of the
kh with their cart. There are two large pillars and each lady was sitting behind one.
Ok, first of all people are not rushing to go to the kh, the location of the kh there is
not a lot of street traffic. I slowed up in front and the ladies peeped around the pillars and
the look on their face said it all, don't bother us please or they were in shock that someone
looked in their direction.
It's a pitiful organization. You piss people off by knocking on their doors and you expect people
to rush to the steps of the kh to get the worthless JW good news.

jehovah's witnesses are purportedly 'active' in 240 'lands', quite a remarkable feat for a planet with only about 200 sovereign states (206 if you count all that are recognised by at least one un member, of which jws are present in 166).

more than half of all jws worldwide are in just 10 countries.

over 90% are in 45 countries.. to achieve this mathematical miracle, various places that are not separate countries are counted as 'lands'.. tahiti is counted as a separate 'land' though it is part of the society islands, which is part of french polynesia, which is part of... france.

In the 60's and 70's you would hear these comments from non- believers,
my neighbor is a JW and they are good people, my sister is a JW and I admire their
dedication. Today if you ask someone what do they think about JW's you get entirely
different comments. My sister is a JW and I told her she is in a cult, my neighbor is
a JW and he's a little strange, what happen to 1975 are they still around don't see them anymore,
or I don't know a lot about JW's but I know they don't believe in blood transfusion, no Xmas and other holidays.
Families that know first hand about JW due to the fact there are JW's in their family seldom have any
thing positive to say today.
What have you heard?????

OK, the man says, "why did you make women so pretty"?
God says, "so you would like them".
OK, the guy says "but how come you made them so beautiful"?
God replies "so you would love them".
The man ponders a moment and then ask, "but why did you make them such airheads"?

People who are happy in the org

i don't know if i can put my musings clearly into words , but i' ll try to be coherant !

on a couple of other threads lately folk have said that they have no wish to disenchant jws who are happy in the org .

those who have no personal problems and are content to stay in , thinking that it is good way to live and the nearest thing to the truth .

Desirous: Yes that is what I see with my daughter friends (all JW), they are seeking
better jobs and they are getting their kids more involved in school activities, but you
wonder how many of their kids( her friends kids) will stay in the borg. There are no
window washer among her friends (there is nothing wrong with being a window washer, it's a
honest living). The kids she grew up with are fireman,nurses, in marketing,disability claim adjuster
in other words they are not pioneers, standing on street corners. There is definitely a shift taking
place among the young ones.

My daughter and her husband are very happy, but I wonder about their kids?
The key in their happiness, they are not fanatical. It seems to me the younger ones
are taking a different path. My family members who are JW's, Christian and Mormon
are very happy. The funny thing they can't understand how can I be so happy in life. LOL
I can't say the same for my other daughter, she is one of those fanatical JW, but I will be there
for her if she ever wake up are become balance.
